Bayern left fuming after controversial offside call in loss to Real Madrid

Madrid complete stunning Champions League comeback to reach final

Bayern fume at offside decision in stoppage time

MADRID, May 8 (Reuters) - Real Madrid showed they remain Europe's comeback kings as they produced a stunning Champions League semi-final second-leg victory over Bayern Munich on Tuesday to reach the final 5-3 on aggregate.

Two of the most iconic clubs in the game went head to head with a place in the final on the line, and it was Real who emerged victorious thanks to a 2-1 win on the night to overturn a 1-0 deficit from the first leg.

Bayern took the lead in the 46th minute through Serge Gnabry, but Karim Benzema equalised for Real just five minutes later to leave the tie finely poised.

Real then completed the comeback in the 82nd minute when Rodrygo's shot deflected in off Antonio Rudiger to send the Santiago Bernabeu into raptures.

Bayern thought they had equalised in stoppage time when Kingsley Coman tapped in, but the goal was ruled out for offside after a VAR check, much to the fury of the Bayern players and staff.

The result means that Real will face Liverpool in the final in Paris on May 28, while Bayern's hopes of reaching a third successive Champions League final are over.
