Jim Otto, the legendary Oakland Raiders center who played for 15 seasons and underwent more than 70 surgeries, has sadly passed away at the age of 80.

Otto's son, Jim Jr., confirmed the news on social media, writing: "It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my father, Jim Otto. He was my hero, my mentor, and my best friend. His legacy will live on forever."

Otto was a five-time Pro Bowler and a two-time All-Pro selection. He helped the Raiders win their first Super Bowl in 1977, and he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1980. Outside of football, Otto owned numerous Burger King restaurants and a walnut grove. He was also a passionate supporter of charitable organizations.

Otto's passing is a great loss for the football community and beyond. He was not only a legendary player but also a beloved father, husband, and friend. His legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
