Champions League results: Liverpool & Real Madrid win, Bayern Munich score nine

Liverpool beat Rangers at Ibrox to secure qualification into the last 16

Liverpool became the first team to reach the knockout stages of this season's Champions League as they secured a 2-0 win over Rangers at Ibrox on Tuesday. Trent Alexander-Arnold's stunning free-kick and a goal from Mohamed Salah were enough to earn the Reds all three points and maintain their 100% record in Group A.

Jurgen Klopp's side dominated the game from start to finish and could have won by a more comfortable margin. However, they were wasteful in front of goal and Rangers goalkeeper Allan McGregor made some excellent saves to keep the score down.

The win means that Liverpool are now six points clear of second-placed Napoli, who drew 1-1 with Ajax in the other game in Group A. The Reds will now need just a point from their remaining two games to secure top spot in the group.

Real Madrid beat Shakhtar Donetsk to move top of Group F

Real Madrid moved top of Group F with a 2-1 win over Shakhtar Donetsk at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday. Goals from Rodrygo and Vinicius Junior secured the victory for the Spanish champions, who are now two points clear of RB Leipzig at the top of the table.

Shakhtar took a surprise lead in the first half through Oleksandr Zubkov, but Real Madrid hit back quickly through Rodrygo. Vinicius Junior then put the hosts ahead early in the second half, and they held on to secure all three points.

The win means that Real Madrid are now in a strong position to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League. They will need just a point from their remaining two games to secure top spot in Group F.

Bayern Munich score nine goals in record-breaking win over Viktoria Plzen

Bayern Munich scored nine goals in a record-breaking 9-0 win over Viktoria Plzen at the Allianz Arena on Tuesday. The German champions were in devastating form and put their opponents to the sword with a ruthless display of attacking football.

Robert Lewandowski scored four goals for Bayern Munich, while Serge Gnabry, Sadio Mane, Leroy Sane, and Jamal Musiala also got on the scoresheet. The win was Bayern Munich's biggest ever in the Champions League and it moved them top of Group C.

Viktoria Plzen were completely outclassed by Bayern Munich and they were lucky to escape with only a nine-goal defeat. The Czech champions are now bottom of Group C and they have no chance of qualifying for the knockout stages.
