WASHINGTON, D.C. – A massive gas explosion in a Northwest D.C. apartment building has left one woman seriously injured and has caused significant damage to the building. Firefighters and emergency medical personnel responded to the scene shortly after the blast, which occurred at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 11th. According to reports from the D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department, the woman was transported to a local hospital with severe burns. Her current condition is unknown at this time.

The explosion leveled the apartment building, which was located in the 3000 block of 14th Street NW.
