Liverpool transfer news: Guehi could be targeted next year
Reds 'plot move' for Saints defender
Liverpool are reportedly plotting a move for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi next year.
The 22-year-old centre-back has been in impressive form for the Eagles this season, making 20 Premier League appearances.
According to The Sun, Liverpool are among a number of clubs interested in signing Guehi, who has also been capped four times by England.
The Reds are said to be in the market for a new centre-back, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip all struggling with injuries this season.
Guehi is a product of Chelsea's academy and spent time on loan at Swansea and Middlesbrough before joining Crystal Palace on a permanent deal in July 2021.
He has made a total of 50 appearances for the Eagles, scoring three goals.
Guehi is a tall and physical defender who is also comfortable on the ball.
He would be a valuable addition to Liverpool's squad, providing competition for places at the back.
However, it is unlikely that Liverpool will make a move for Guehi in January, as they are likely to be focused on signing a midfielder.
A move for Guehi next summer is more likely, if the Reds are still in need of a new centre-back.
